PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS...

THESE ARE ALL WINTER WHEAT AND SHOULD BE PLANTED IN THE FALL AND HARVESTED IN THE SPRING;  IN FULL SUN LOCATION.

(WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BLACK EMMER, IT CAN BE PLANTED IN THE SPRING OR FALL) .

THE SEEDS SHOULD BE PLANTED 1 TO 1.5 INCHES DEEP; 1 INCH TO 2 INCHES APART WITH ABOUT 6 INCHES BETWEEN ROWS.

DEPENDING ON THE VARIETY YOU ORDERED, THE PLANTS WILL GROW FROM TWO TO FIVE FEET TALL.

HARVESTING...

WE HAVE HARVESTED, THRESHED AND WINNOWED SEEDS BY HAND. ONE PROCESS THAT WORKED WAS TO USE A HEDGE TRIMMER TO CUT OFF THE WHEAT HEADS; THEN RUB THE HEADS AGAINST A SCREEN OR BACK OF A CERAMIC TILE TO THRESH AND THEN WINNOW THE SEEDS BY DROPPING THEM IN FRONT OF A FAN WITH THE BREEZE AT OUR BACKS TO ASSIST. THIS PROCESS SHOULD BE DONE OUTDOORS AND PROBABLY OVER A TARP TO COLLECT THE CHAFF. AFTER THAT PROCESS, IT WAS FAIRLY EASY TO SORT THOUGH THE SEEDS THAT WOULD BE NEEDED FOR COOKING.

COMBINING...

FOR LOCAL AREA SMALL FARMS WE HAVE A SMALLER COMBINE MACHINE, TRACTOR AND OPERATOR FOR HIRE. (AT LEAST 1 ACRE OR MORE )
